Jason Waack

At BOSSdev, Jason has evolved the organization from its roots in software production into a comprehensive, interactive force. By successfully marrying a thorough process, imaginative artistry and savvy development, he ensures consistent delivery of the highest level of work. Jason also provides executive management and strategic planning in the development technology services supporting Management Venture’s other business divisions in telecommunications, collaboration, and public safety products. Jason oversees over a hundred in-house specialists at BOSSdev headquarters, as well as expansion operations in Eastern Europe, Asia, South America and other global endeavors.

•Accountable for software development and technology for the multiple products comprising the XanEdu custom publishing business including the course packs, MetaText eBook, Original Works, Copley Custom Publishing and Research Engine products.•Guided the process of the growing XanEdu product line from a startup in 2000 to a 12.5 million dollar business in 2005.•Project initiation with budget and schedule estimates.•Oversaw multiple simultaneous projects, either directly in a project lead role, or as a program manager, directing lead role assigned to others in team.•Budgetary control for software development.•Conducting recruiting and staff development, interviews, performance appraisals, career guidance and department restructuring.

•Responsible for conceptualizing and developing new applications from ground up that served as basis for future product line of company. Core pieces included; NT service with HTML user interface, data calculations, and exporting data (database, serial, OPC, DDE).•As lead design role, created original architectural design for project resulting in unique self-managing object modeling allowing for user-designed screens, flow control, and data export.•Supervisor of 6 team members and served as department Liaison to CEO and other department heads.•Improved Software processes, Designed and established software test lab. Automated testing. Enforced and ensured defined software process standards were followed.

Gained early computer science experience working as part of a development team and a group independent study project developing a Natural Language Processor.
