Meghan Reitz

I have a Masters degree in Counseling from Bradley University and a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Iowa. I have extremely strong computer skills (proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, general computer use, and internet) as well as administrative assistant and customer service experience. I'm currently volunteering at the Lutheran Home in their early memory loss unit and I run a Crohn's and Colitis support group.

As the Director of Admissions for Camelot Schools, a therapeutic day school and psychiatric residential center, I had the opportunity to utilize my crisis intervention training as well as my intake and assessment skills working closely with managed care and EAP providers. A large portion of this job included sales and marketing. After a year and a half, I moved to the school therapist position to work more closely with the therapeutic day school population. I provided case management, tutoring, developed individual education plans, interacted with school districts and hospitals, and provided individual, family and group therapy, as well as crisis intervention.

As a Facility Care Advocate for United Behavioral Healthcare, I was familiarized with the inner workings of the managed care/ health insurance industry. Most of my work consisted of utilizing the computer and specialized data bases. This also included answering and making phone calls, being self-sufficient, and being highly organized. At Counseling Connections, I did much of what I described above in my Camelot Schools positions.

I had an exceptional experience as a volunteer and as the previousTake Steps Walk Manager for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). However, at this time, I have returned to the field of mental health in order to use my LCPC in providing therapy to individuals, couples, and family. I am happy to announce that I am currently managing and practicing in my own private practice.
