20 Did I hear that the only reason L. Smith played Grossman over Greise is because Rex is more spiritual?Football (American) at 10 February 2007 06:02:48 QI was screaming for Brian Greise since the middle of the season. I believe it too cause there's no other logical explaination for plsaying Rex over Brian. Is it unchristian to start one over another becasue you think one is a better christian? The good thing was that because of it, I got to root for Peyton.Blind faith. ALet's look at the comparisons between Grossman and Griese. Brian Greise went to Michigan University. He never won any BCS games, never played for any national title contending teams, and was never projected to be a top QB in the NFL.When he was drafted by the Broncos, he first sat on the bench behind one of the greatest QB's in the game. He also had one of the best QB coaches and offensive coordinators in Mike Shanahan and Gary Kubiak. When he finally got his chance to start, he lead the Broncos to an 0-4 start and, I believe a 6-10 overall record. This while having a good receiver in Rod Smith, a good running back in Terrell Davis and then Olandis Gary and Mike Anderson after Davis was hurt. He also had a hall of fame tight end named Shannon Sharpe. All this talent, and he could only manage a sub-.500 winnind percentage and no playoff. The following seasons in Denver were more of the same until he was finally ran out of Denver in favor of JAKE PLUMMER.Then he went to Tampa Bay and was a back up to Brad Johnson and Chris Sims. He had Jon Gruden, the man that made Rich Gannon look like a shue in for the hall of fame. Yet, he contiued to make questionable decisions and bad passes until he lost the job to CHRIS SIMS. Now Rex Grossman on the other hand went to Florida. He played and won in the Orange Bowl during Steve Spurrier's last season in Florida. When Ron Zook came in, he continued to win in Florida despite a subpar coaching staff. Unlike Greise, he was projected to go in the first round of the draft and he did. He was also credited with having good QB mechanics and a strong arm. His decision making was questionable, but it viewed as something that he could improve. When the Bears drafted him, he sat out for a short time. He played in three games as rookie until he got hurt. The next season he played in three more games until he got hurt again. This year, he finally got to play in a full season and he lead his team to the Super Bowl. This with good receivers (not the calibur of Rod Smith and Ed McCaffery), a good running back tandem of Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson (although the Bears offense is not known for producing 1,000 yard studs like the Broncos), and an above average tight end. He also had to learn from watching the game. He did not have a hall of fame QB teaching him anything, or a genius offensive coordinator or coach (remember Lovie Smith forte is defense). Sure he made some bad decisions during the season, but so did Ben Roethlisberger in his first full season. The question is do want to give up a player with very little experience actually playing the game that has helped your team go to the Super Bowl in his first full year for a QB that has played in plenty of systems and had multiple chances, but still couldn't produce? Give me the young inexperienced guy any day. I would expect that the coaching staff would work with him to make his decisions better. If they do and he still does not improve, then you treat him like Tampa and Denver treated Greise and Chicago should give him the boot. BTW, I am a Redskins fan and I would prefer Grossman over Campbell any day.

SmithDEF - Jaguars and ColtsK - Jeff Reed, Nate Kaedingcheck back later to here my response to some of your answers. CHECK THE STATS!coles has 31 points so far this season man he is a Solid #2 receiver who I got in like the 6th round. I am 3-0 and expect to win it all this season as well. I won last year and expect to win it this year. some people said my team was D+ or just terrible. they are retarded. AAt QB its ok not great, but i have to say you couldve done better.RB its Great no problem there. You probably have the best RB in the league but u may have to trade one or 2 for a better DEF and/or WR.WR not great Reggie and Joey are like used for your WR slot 2 or 3. And Coles is your flex WR.Gotta get a better WR.TE its great no problem there.Smith will get 20-50 yards with Mcnabb passing. DEF gotta get a better D than the Colts. Yea they did great the first week but it was just luck.K great kickersOverall out of 10 teams with this line up i see you finishing 4th or 5th. Geta better WR and DEF

We have a pretty deep draft with about 30 roundsQBs- Aaron Rodgers, Kyle Orton, Brady Quinn, Derek Anderson, Troy Smith, Brian Brohm, Kyle Boller, Pat White, Rex GrossmanRBs- Adrian Peterson, Brian Westbrook, Jonathan Stewart, Ricky Williams, Jerome Harrison, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Lorenzo Neal, Jacob HesterWRs- Larry Fitzgerald, Lee Evans, Santana Moss, Torry Holt, Joey Galloway, Chris Chambers, Marty Booker, Kelley Washington, Dexter JacksonTEs- Visanthe Shiancoe, Donald Lee, Alex Smith, L.J. SmithKs- Jason Hanson, Phil Dawson, Sebastian JanikowskiDEF/STs- Jacksonville, Atlanta, Houston Awow, lots of players, okay, i dont kno y u need that many, but Rodgers is a pretty good QB, and if he doesnt do that well u got cutler, who will do bttr with the bears than wut he did with the Broncos, RB's, great, u got two of the best, peterson and westbrook will both have lots of running yards and TDs to help your team, u have a good reciever with Fitzgerrald, he is gonna have a great year, but your other recievers arent great, nice picks with all of your TE's I think Donald Lee is gonna have a good year this year, maybe consider starting him, but wait until the middle of the season to c how he will do, i dont like your defences though, none of them r that good, idk who u would be able to trade 4 a good 1, maybe orton if they have a bad QB, but it isnt bad, i'll give u a 6.5 out of 10hope this helps :-)

What can I do between now and the reg season? ANot in bad shape. I am so happy for you that you got David Garrard because he will be great this year. Hasselback is good. Running Back as good. WR's are good but the only one I would be worried about is Isaac Bruce. He's getting old and may not get much ball. TE'S are great. K is good. D-Fence is good. Arizona's D might be a bit dodgy but if you can change those minor things your set. Good Luck!
