AI beg your pardon, but I worked on the Apollo Project, and one of the things I was responsible for included the radar (software only, I couldn't do squat with hardware if it bit me). For rendezvous in orbit the radar was expected to be accurate to better than 0.2 milliradians per second. Bother translating that into feet at say 5 miles, and you'll see radar was a lot more accurate that you think.
