ARIT has a very competitive Computer Science program. One of the greatest benefits of attending RIT is the mandatory co-op program, which allows students to get real work experience before graduating. This real work experience is RIT's biggest plus.The college campus and surrounding suburbs are a very safe place to live. There are certain sections of the city you would want to avoid, but I imagine every city is like that. The RIT campus is in a very nice suburb.Moving to RIT from SoCal is not a decision I would make, but if you think you'll enjoy the weather, I wish you the best of luck.

ANeither school publishes its GRE requirements.I am assuming that your GRE scores are out of 1600, not out of 2400. If so, that is a very good score -- but may be on the low side for either Stanford or University of California at Berkeley (note spelling of Berkeley). For computer science at either school, your Quantitative score would have to be in the 780-800 range.Your GPA is also very good, but is also on the low side for both Stanford and Berkeley. These are among the top Computer Science programs in the world, and are extremely competitive.If your quantitative score is very high, I would advise taking a GRE prep class to bring up your verbal score. At that point, you could be on the margin, and might be able to get into one of these programs. But you should apply to a few schools ranked just below these schools as back-up.

AIIT is the place to go. People are thrown jobs after graduating from there. Three of my relatives graduated from there, all of whom are now making six figures. Definitely IIT.

AI'm a USF grad. I've not been to the campuses of FIT or UCF, but in looking at their websites, I would lean toward FIT if you are looking at an engineering major. It just feels more like a serious engineering school. UCF seems more generalized, like UF/USF/FSU. And your own observation about it seeming like an amusement park is telling. Since FIT is local, why not just go over there and talk to some of the students. Catch some of them at lunch or walking out of the library. Go to the office of the dean and ask if you can talk to a professor. And talk to some of your VCC professors -- they know what's good and what isn't.Good luck to you in your decision and your studies.
