11 For all IT Sales people, have you been in a situation like this??Other - Business & Finance at 25 September 2006 10:09:26 QI work for a NPO ( Non Profit Organization ) my position is CTO. My boss who is the COO is a Non-IT person and has no knowledge whatsoever of IT.Since we don't have much money to spend and neither in IT, I propose him 2 weeks ago, to trade the services from a turn-key sw development company. They give us 2 programmers and in exchange we give them a tax free receipt for a 6 month duration. At first, he was eager to do it, because with those 2 resources, we could develop several apps that have been in a hold status for a couple years, and really are needed in the organization.Until today, a few hours ago, where he told me that he was scared, because if we do that, all the knowledge from our organization would be in other persons and the outsourcing would be a real bad idea. So, my question is, how do you IT Sales people convince your potential customers, to acquire your outsourcing services with the example I just gave you? What are your arguments? AI'm not an IT salesperson, but I, too, work for a nonprofit organization. If you look around your organization, I'm sure there are other examples of outsourcing services whereby the servicer has access to confidential information (payroll, benefits, etc.) So I'm sure there is precedent at your NPO. Plus, a simple confidentiality agreement will give comfort from a legal perspective.
Best Answer : by NPF_CFO at 25 September 2006 11:09:24 How to get virtual interns for web design, marketing and SEO, blogging, research, social media site updates?Other - Advertising & Marketing at 26 January 2011 06:01:07 QI am a small business owner in the real estate brokerage field. I have watched several webinars and such promoting small business owners' use of interns to help grow their business in areas such as research, direct sales, web development, SEO, marketing research, business automation, and so much more. I have seen a lot of stories of people pulling off a good internship program within their offices - but all were larger operators than I. We own several properties, do property management, have a full service real estate brokerage, offer discount brokerage services, property preservation (for bank-owned homes), do a lot of property valuations (Broker Price Opinions), and list a lot of foreclosures from government entities and several natioanl mortgage loan servicers. Recruiting has been very difficult since we are so busy all the time - finding a good staff person is hard to do - and when I do I can't help but feel like I put too much on their plate... and its short lived.I tend to work 14 hours a day and would like to cut it back a bit - I do a lot of the marketing, media, and print design work - especially online marketingn and social media updates in the evenings and after hours... I do a lot of file auditing and book keeping in these late hours too... According to a few people who are trying to selll how-to books and forms - they have had a lot of success getting connections with various vocational and state colleges around the country that will offer their student various unpaid and paid internship positions - virtually...Anyone have any experience with this? Pitfalls? Success stories? There is no shortage of work to be done here - and I'd love to be able to teach some of the things we do here as investors and real estate marketing professionals to the next generation - and learn from them some of the newer emerging stategies and technologies as well...Ideas? Legal concerns? Process to work with college staff? What do I need to know to be successful at offering up an internship position? ACheck out how we help small business owners find, hire and manage interns. We cover it all. Best Answer : by Dreama at 28 January 2011 01:01:01See the 4 Answers more for this question how airbus gain in market share affect the legitimacy of claims for subsidies?Other - Business & Finance at 28 February 2007 05:02:19 Qin december 2003, Boeing announced it would go ahead with the development of its latest commercial jetliner, the 7E7, which Boeing will position against Airbus's popular A330 aircraft. The "E" in the Boeing 7E7 stands for 'efficient.' By making extensive use of new composite and engine technology, Boeing hopes to reduce the aircraft's operating costs by as much as 20 percent compared to a traditional design. If it is successful, this will make the plane a potent competitor against the best-selling A330. however, the 7E7, now renamed the 787, is a risky project for Boeing. The aircraft will cost about $7 billion to develop, according to industry estimates, and demand is uncertain. To share the costs and risks of development Boeing has taken on several partners who will help to design and build the 787. Most important among these are a trio of three Japanese companies, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Fuji Heavy Industries. Collectively, these three companies will probably build as much as 35 percent of the 787 by value, including parts of the fuselage, wings, and landing gear. They will ship the finished components to everett, Washington, for final assembly. These three companies are longtime Boeing partners. They contributed about 21 percent by value to Boeing's last new jetliner, the Boeing 777. Although there has been a long history of development subsidies in the commercial aerospace industry, a 1992 agreement between Boeing and Airbus limits the state aid either company can get from their respective governments. Airbus, now a private company, is limited to repayable launch aid that must not exceed one-third of the development costs of a new aircraft. The launch aid has to be repaid only if aircraft sales are high enough for Airbus to turn a profit on the investment in a new plane. As for Boeing, indirect aid from U.S. government agencies such as R&D contracts from the Pentagon and NASA are capped at 4 percent of its total revenues. It is unclear if the 1992 agreement extends to other parties in the projects. The Japenese Aircraft Development Corporation, an association of Japanese aircraft makers, has asked the Japanese government for help with the 787 project. The country's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry has submitted a budget request that would make the 787 a "national project. Newspaper reports put the request at about $1.5 billion. Upon hearing this, Airbus officials were quick to claim that the arrangement could violate several international agreements, including a 1994 WTO prohibition against subsidies that can harm competitors. Behind the scenes, Airbus executives started to urge the European Union to look at the issue and possibly file a case on their behalf. They also noted that Boeing received aid from the states of Washington and Kansas, where its factories are located, and that also constitutes an unfair subsidy that was outside the scope of the 1992 agreement. In mid-2004, the issue became even more contentious when the u.s. government demanded an end to airbus's launch aid. airbus had already been granted lans of 3.7 billion to develop its latest aircraft, the A380 super-jumbo, but what really got attention in america were signs from airbus that it would also build a direct competitor to the 787, the A350, and ask for launch aid to help cover the development costs of that plane. Estimates suggested the lunch aid for the A350 could total $1.3 billion. furthermore, in 2004 airbus surpassed boeing in global market share. American officials felt that given the strength of the company, subsidies were no longer appropriate. In late 2004, the EU and U.S. government entered into negotiations to try to resolve the dispute, but talks ended in March 2005 with no agreement. The dispute now goes to the World Trade Organization, which must rule on the legality of the various subsidies. Meanwhile, Boeing is starting to pile up orders for the 787, and industry observers speculate that the longer launch aid for an airbus competitor is stalled in legal limbo, the less likely Airbus will be to go ahead with the plane. AWell, its obvious that subsidies go down as a company gets stronger. And if they are gaining market share, then they are getting stronger. So, their subsidies will go down. And these subsidies could eventually become nothing. But, lets say that they gained market shares. And the government thought that it would be good for the economy and for efficiency of fuel, money, etc etc. If the government wanted to, they could give a subsidy. But, this of course has to take place after they figure out if they are allowed to or not. And, if it was such a good plan to develop these new technologies, and they are gaining market share, the government would not give a subsidy. Mostly due to the fact that, even without a subsidy, these companies would go ahead and develop these new planes anyways...So, the government would not have to dish out money. If these companies were short of money, they would borrow from banks or ask their partners to try to give more to help develop these projects.
Best Answer : by Francis D at 28 February 2007 05:02:14 From this side by side analysis, who has more experience? Obama or Palin?Elections at 03 September 2008 08:09:35 Q*I did not do this research1980 - 1984 Obama: B.A. in political science with a specialization in international relations from Columbia University.Palin: Wasilla High School, captain of the state-champion basketball team. Miss Wasilla, runner-up in the Miss Alaska pageant, also Miss Congeniality, although that is now disputed. 1985 - 1990 Obama: moved to Chicago; became a community organizer as director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization on Chicago's far South Side. During his three years as the DCP's director, its staff grew from 1 to 13 and its annual budget grew from $70,000 to $400,000, with accomplishments including helping set up a job training program, a college preparatory tutoring program, and a tenants' rights organization.Moved to Boston to attend Harvard Law School. Town budget, $8 million (3 millionths of the Federal budget), approximately 100 employees. Reduced property taxes but increased sales taxes. Fired the Wasilla police chief, citing a failure to support her administration. Hired a DC lobbyist to bring $27 million in earmarks to the city. Wasilla had zero debt when she entered office but she left it with indebtedness of over $22 million, including $15 million-plus for construction of a hockey center which was built on a piece of property that the city didn’t even have clear title to, a matter that is still in litigation. (The entire operation is under federal control, and the governor is not briefed on situations.)Obtained her first passport in 2007 to perform visits to the Alaska National Guard in Kuwait and Germany. (Foreign experience so limited that a stopover in Ireland listed on her resume.)Let me tell you what I got from this:Obama is NOT inexperienced. He has done a LOT and has shown a lot of potential. I posted this because of republicans thinking Palin had the same amount of experience as Obama. They are blatantly wrong.IF YOU DIDNT READ THE INFORMATION KINDLY SHUT YOUR MOUTH. IF YOU ARE HONESTLY SO BLIND AS TO NOT SEE THE SITUATION THEN YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO DEBATE ANYTHING, EVER. I AM TYPING IN CAPS TO GET YOUR ATTENTION SINCE YOUR TOO LAZY TO READ ANYTHING ELSE.Honestly guys, executive experience doesn't mean jack shit, especially less than 2 years of it. I'm getting a little tired of that point. AYou need to quantify what your talking about. If you say she got a BA in Journalism and he graduated magma Cum laude (>) and made the editor of the Law Review, they will only count the years to each. When you point he has actually written a book and has a series of positions on international affairs that show remarkable judgment, they say she was in charge of the national Guard putting out a fire near a border with Russia - in other words lying about some type of thing. When you easily point out that Obama is vastly more qualified to president, they point out that being mayor of a city and govenor of a state gives one something called 'executive experience' which is a magical 2 word sentence that gives someone a characteristic that you cannot otherwise ascribe to them.

Gates was first exposed to computers at school in the late 1960s with his friend Paul Allen, the son of two Seattle librarians. I had a second interview with a new company for a job I'm very interested in (more of an administration position which is where my training is). Yesterday, several hours after the interview, my current boss told me I was being terminated for not making minimum sales goals (which was not a surprise). Should I call the prospective employer to let them know the new development? I'm thinking that I should, so I can spin this in my favor (and also let them know I could start immediately). I know that my bosses would give me a good reference, but fired is still fired.
