QI can't do lessons so what other ways are best to learn guitar? I like music like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Linkin Park, Guns N' Roses, Buckethead. What would be a good way to start so I could work my way up to playing stuff like that? People have said just play, but what do they mean by that? What kind of stuff should I "just play" Thanks. 10 points to most detailed answer.

QI've been playing for about 2 years but I never had any lessons at all. I can play songs well if I learn the tabs but I want to be able to improvise, and play different scales by memory, and etc.I am used to playing Heavy Metal the most, but I want to learn to play some simple blues and progress to Rock N' Roll. I know plenty of bands but I just don't know how to teach myself.How can I learn to do this, without getting a teacher.Anyone know any webistes that actually work?

QI want to learn a more contemporary song on piano, one that people will recognize. I was thinking free bird, or bohemian rhapsody, but they're both too common. i was also thinking sweet child o' mine, but piano and guns n' roses don't really mix too well, and it's been done - see youtube. any ideas? I'll just take the guitar tab and the song and work something out myself once i pick the song.

Originally a plantation woker, Robert Johnson, legend goes, sold his soul to the devil in order to learn how to play a Gibson L-1 guitar. While the legend of him is a mystery, it's not a mystery on how soulful and masterful his music was. His work has been remade from Eric Clapton to Mix Master Mike. He is a HUGE influence.But apparently, I believe he does not get enough credit for his influence in Rock N' Roll. If it wasn't for him, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Rolling Stones, and a bunch of more bands wouldn't exist.So Rock & Pop. QAll right got a guitar and amp, now I want to learn to play, but don't know where to start. I see awesome lessons all over the internet for all kinds of things, but no where have I seen a good plan as to what order to learn things. Can someone tell me where I might find a good plan/schedule? What should I be spending my time on at first (after hand positioning and tuning)? I know it varies depending on what you want to play, but I'm just looking for a good base, something to get me started. If you really need it though, I want to be able just about anything, but my focus at least for now is to get to the point where I can play rock (i.e. Ozzy, AC/DC, Metallica, Zakk Wylde, Jimmy, Guns n' Roses). After that I'll venture out. Of course I wouldn't mind picking up some other good techniques/info/whatever on the way, but for now that's my main goal. Thank you very much for your help! Also I realize guitar is a lifetime pirsuit, a lifestyle, and it take work, time, and dedication so I understand if somethings take a while to learn.Hoping for a real answer here! QOk this is my situation:Since I graduated in my BSc honours psychology degree I have started a new job as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities. My long term goal is to become a clinical psychologist. I was told that in order to achieve this, working as a mental health support worker would be a good starting point. However, much to my horror I've realised that learning disabilities does n't quite fall into the category of mental health so I am wasting my time at the moment. Now, to become a mental health support worker you need atleast a year's expereince which most people do voluntarily while they are still at uni but with having to pay off students debt I can't do voluntary work. My question is, will my current job as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities give me enough experience to be a mental health support worker if I apply in a years time?

QI am looking to apply at both lowes and the local grocery store. My friend works as a meat cutter at shop n' save and makes 13$ an hour. I have also heard that lowes pays well for certain positions, but does anyone know what those positions are? I do not have a lot of experience but I am willing to learn anythning that I have to to qualify for the position.

QI will do whatever it takes to write this out, night and day i will slave over my desk with the pen held tightly in my grasp. Blisters will form and aches will be had, but that is just a burden I will have to bare. I have no other option. Through blood sweat and tears, this will be written. It is not my place to say otherwise. i will force the words onto the paper no matter how much it hurts to do so. Although I don't have the strength, I must carry on through this night. This is meant to be written, no other outlets will do.I refuse to do therapy, i refuse to confide in people, what it all comes down to in the end is, "you are alone." You can't expect them to stay forever, they can't hold your hand every step of the way, so don't expect them to. School, fuck that. They only teach you the same things they teach everybody else, so how can you expect to gain more knowledge about who YOU'RE supposed to be, if all you know is what they're telling all the other lost, dumbfoubed, troubled people? How does it help YOU? Learn from others mistakes? It's not that simple, you're on seperte paths, so you have different mistakes, and the answers to their problems may not be the answers to yours. It's all a misleading light. It can only take you so far. Church, they can pray for you, but what exactly are they praying for, god's will? Who is God anyway, we can't define him or his will, for we don't have the mind capacity to understand it. So they don't even know what they're praying for. We're told to work towards the things we want out of life, how can we do that if we don't know what we want? We're left lost in our search. Which brings me back to the whole “Alone factor” is anyone lost with you? No, many others are lost, but not in the same way as you, so how can you say you're not alone? Many people will tell you they care about you and they want you to talk to them. DON''T be fooled. I've been down that road before. All that would lead to is you opening a vain for others to open wider. The more i try to exlain the harder it gets. there is no specific problem with no simple answer. However, there is this one thing called time. Funny thing about time, i consider it quite dangerous. It is said that time heals all scars but in my opinion, it all depends how you look at it. For instance, time also allows you to gain more of an understanding of what is there or... not there. The more you analyze something, the more you learn about it and it's traits. having this knowledge can be quite the burden. For example, If i were to trip and bump into someone and that person got angry, time would heal that because the person would come to see it was an accident. If my dad hit my brother and my brother said, "In time he will realize he is wrong." and he allows it to go on that much more and get that much deeper, then in this case, time did not make things better. How long was is my brother supposed to wait. What happens when it's too late. I wouldn't want to chance it. So DON'T gamble with time! So many times i try to prove myself wrong but i never can. This is how i see things, and every time i try to see things another way something happens to me to reassure me that this thought process is right. almost like a sign saying, "How dare you consider otherwise." This is the realization that frightens me so. It's not meant to be understood, nor am i, it is what it is, and i am who it's made me to be. Just another part of the big fucking Riddle.
