AIt can be regular or AP. What I mean is you can use regular and/or AP classes to fulfill the requirement. So as long as you have 4 years of college prep-English, 3 years of college prep math, and 2 years of science (along with 1 year of art and year of above classes) you're fine. they don't need to be AP, but you can use AP to take care of them too. ^^

AUnless you are getting high school credit for these classes they will not count. Colleges only consider your high school transcript and they won't show up on that unless you are getting high school credit. What will count is that when you start high school you will be staring at a higher level and thus get farther faster.That'll help you out in the long run.Good Luck and Keep up the Good Habits! Acollege prep is the level of class...its is the basic class that is needed for college. Academic classes can be either your core classes (i.e. english, math) or they can be academic level. Academic level classes are the regular level classes that most people are working at. At my school college prep is the lowest level and competative college prep is the "academic" level while at some schools college prep is the "academic" level

ACollege Prep is getting your prepared to attend a college or universitywhereas Tech Prep is in preparation for attendance at a Vocational/Technical Institute to learn a trade.

ACollege prep schools try to have the same rigor and similar class loads as college classes, so that you will be prepared for college. Regular hs academic courses tend to be easier.

AYes, you can get into a college without college prep classes. It is not compulsory to have college prep classes, that is usually another thing that you can use to get college credits. However, each college has different selection process and policies. AGo talk to your guidance counselor that is part of their job, & they will help you set up the courses you will need to prepare for college on your class schedule*

AWell since you have to take a test to apply, I suggest that you study hard and do all the usual that you would do before a big test. (i.e. sleep well, eat a big breakfast) Also you should have excellent grades and at least a 5 on the stanine scale for the Iowa Test, if you attend a CPS school.
