AAbsolutely. Of course it depends on what you want to do, but besides everything else involved (the play becomes your baby and is your creation!) you get to know and research every part. It is like playing them all versus only playing one character when you are in a production.

You may think that none of this applies but this could be a costly error.B. Protect your employer. Perhaps there is no conflict at all but your employer has a certain reputation in its field. Your employer works very hard to maintain this reputation. They may not want to be associated with whatever activities the start-up is engaged in. As a director in the start-up and their employee you may associate your employer with the activities of the start-up by your mere presence.C. Protect yourself. You have a reputation and are building your reputation every day. Working for the start-up while holding down a 9-5 could be a great opportunity. But it could also cause a ton of problems in ways that you can't even think of right now.
