QAgricultural Engineering Limited is a small, UK based, company that specialises in the manufacture of a wide range of special purpose agricultural equipment, usually individually made to order for a diverse customer base. The previous owner, now aged seventy, wanted to sell the business and retire. Five months ago, four of the twenty employees borrowed money against their houses and bought the company. The previous draughtsman bought 35% of the shares and now acts as Company Director with the production engineer, now Production Director, buying 30%, the inspector, now Quality Director, buying 20% and the storekeeper, now Logistics Director, buying the remaining 15%. The fifteen production workers were employed in their existing roles with no change of pay or conditions.Erfunden is a rural country relying principally on agriculture with thousands of small farmers each owning a patch of land that they cultivate, mainly by hand, to produce enough to feed themselves and have a little to sell at the local market. The country is technically a democracy, but several powerful families have undue influence on government policy. The minority (45%) government rules with a coalition made up of six out of the ten smaller parties with the opposition (35%) party constantly trying to split the coalition and form the government. The Prime Minister of Erfunden, wants to bring his country into the twenty-first century by improving the current very primitive farming methods, amalgamating many small farms into larger, more economic, units and concentrating on cash crops. As part of this plan he wishes to place an order with Agricultural for three hundred of their patented automatic ploughs at £6,000 each for delivery within twelve months. The value of this order is more than twice their usual annual turnover. With their current process layout and working practices, even concentrating exclusively on this order, Agricultural does not have the capacity to produce this quantity of ploughs within the timescale. The Production Director, however, believes that by concentrating exclusively on this order, moving the existing machines to form a product layout, buying a new 150 Ton press (which will require the existing floor to be locally strengthened and a new power supply installed) for £60,000 from a company in China, requiring the production workers to work more flexibly and working a six-day week they can meet the order on time. QI work for a small sector of a government contracting company. We work in a separate building. There is only 13 total people working at that sector, including me. We do all production and engineering work there. I do a little bit of everything as a technician. The problem is is that there are only a few manager positions there. There is the head engineer, production manager, and the director who is overall in charge. Until we really expand, which probably won't be for awhile, no new positions will really become available. I am learning a lot of everything there, which helps, but there really isn't a set advancement schedule there.I like doing the work, but if thats all I am ever going to do there, then I don't want to work there for more than several years. I guess all I can do is try and work my way up, and hope they hire people for me to be in charge of.

QI'm a junior in high school. I'll have to be applying to different colleges soon... I of course am not sure about what I want to be, but I have narrowed it down to this:-Movie Producer/Director etc...-Business (entrepreneur, engineering/technology...)-Senator/Politics etc...2 QUESTIONS... :)---First, I think an MBA from a top school like Harvard would be great for any of these, or am I wrong? (i.e what if I want to become a senator, is it common to have an MBA?)---Second, I don't know what to do for undergraduate. Film major? Business? Engineering? Political Science? QI am having trouble deciding on what i want to do with the rest of my life, please help me. Im up for college now and im passionate about two things. I love music and i would love to be a soud engineer, you know the one who owns a music studio and he records music productions and stuff, and i also love the movie and music video business, the one who directs a music video or a movie. Now i am having trouble finding where to study any of them where they teach me well and i come out being a pro. Id also like to know what is the anual salary or monthly of these two careers?

QAs stated in my question, I was a web developer intern for a company that specialized in web based applications. I was let go early for undisclosed reasons, and it caught me as a huge surprise. I had a great relationship with the director of software development, as well as all the employees in the company. I was complimented many times on my ability to quickly adapt to the programming environment and was quickly assigned a big project, which I worked extremely hard on. The only thing that went wrong in the deployment was that I missed a small feature which delayed deployment by a couple days, and the blame, which I took full responsibility for, was put somewhat on me, but more so on the tester and manager who deployed the project on the production server without noticing the feature wasn't implemented. I was reassured by the director of software development that it was no big deal, and that these things happen to new employees. I would always stay late to get things done for the day, and would always be completely honest, or charge less hours than I actually worked to show my devotion to the company was not financially motivated. I had even inquired about the possibility of working there after graduation a few weeks prior to the firing and was told "There's always an open position for the right developer". I was told upon my release that they legally could not disclose the reason for the early release, but I can use them as a reference on my resume and they were confident I will have great financial success as a software engineer. My question is do I include them on my resume, and should I ask the director of software engineering (the person who informed me of my release) for a letter of reference? I also am very stressed of my release and want to send an email thanking the developer for the opportunity, and subtly inquiring about anything I did wrong. Would this be a good or bad thing to do?
