20 Morocco ?..?Morocco at 16 June 2008 06:06:58 QIm travelling to Casablanca in Morocco in late July..Any suggestions where to visit there ?Im visiting with a moroccan but have no clue what to expect about the culture, dress, laws or anything !..Any tips or advice ?Thanks :) ABoth of the other answerers are correct depending on your choice. I was in Morocco last Fall and stayed in Casablanca for most of the time. It is not a good tourist spot, but has a culture more geared toward American culture. You will see as many young women wearing "Western" clothing as you will women wearing "Moroccan" cothing with jelleba and hijab. There are many beaches and motels that have special amenities. As the first answerer suggested, you should definitely visit the Mosque as it is breathtaking especially at night. There aren't really any souks to speak of at least not like you would find in tourists spots. There are some that sell T-Shirts, jewelry, kitchen supplies, etc., but I didn't see any that sold good souvenirs like carpets, handbags, shoes, nice jewelry, etc., you'll need to go to a tourist town for those and I would recommend either Essaouira, Fez, Marrakech, Agadir which all also have beautiful beaches. In Casablanca there is the twin towers shopping mall(prices will be much more because there is very little haggling if any.), Pizza Hut, KFC, McDonalds as the 2nd answerer suggested, but you should try out the local cuisine. The pizzas are better than you would get at Pizza Hut because they are more of what we would consider gourmet pizza here. Enjoy your vacation.

I was wondering in morocco if I go to grad school how acceptable is it for a canadian guy to date a moroccan girl? Im planning on going to school in either Casablanca or Rabat. AIt depends. Are you Muslim? If you are, there shouldn't be many problems at all with meeting Moroccan women. If you are not, you may have a harder time with it, as Muslim women are not supposed to marry non-Muslim men. Muslim women who follow their religion closely don't date either.
Best Answer : by ♥ terry g ♥ at 04 December 2007 04:12:44See the 8 Answers more for this questionSee the 1 Comments more for this question When did Morocco become a constitutional monarchy, and what were they before this change?Government at 13 May 2010 11:05:20 QI'm doing a research paper on Morocco, and I thought I had information about Morocco being a constitutional monarchy, but I seem to have lost the source. Does anyone happen to know what Morocco was before they became a constitutional monarchy (monarchy, dictatorship, police state, etc.), and in what year did they make this switch? I thought it was under King Mohammed VI's (the current king) rule, but I could be wrong. Thank you for your help in advance! AAround year 600 BC Morocco went under the Roman Empire. In year 670 AD Morocco became Islamic, and muslims from all over Africa fled to Morocco. At the end of the 14. century, the europeans showed great interest in Africa, and particular the portuguese people, who had started taking over the north-west coast of Africa. The portuguese colonized Morocco. In 1912, when the Treaty of Fez, France and Spain colonized Morocco, respectively, ending the Portuguese Empire in Morocco. The Treaty of Fez was signed in 1912, and the French took the south and Spain took the north. The French Protectorate of Morocco as it was called lasted from 1912 to 6th of march, 1956. During this period, the french and the spanish borders was continuously fought over, as the relationship between Spain and France during this time was highly turbulent. The independence was requested by sultan Muhammed V, to Spain and France separate, although both the French-Moroccon and the Spanish-Moroccon Agreement were signed in Paris. Since then, the 6th of march, 1956, sultan Muhammed V established a constitutional monarchy with a democratic form of government. I think the answer you are looking for is that Morocco was a colonized country ruled by the Europeans. Good luck! :)

I don't understand this stupid visa system, especially in a country like Morocco but well... You know, even Moroccans have to fill a form explaining why they come back to their country when they get to an airport : security measure... Foolish! But anyway ^^ http://www.amb-maroc.fr/BienvenueMaroc/voyager_au_maroc.htmThis link will help you a bit :) Je suppose que tu parles français, donc tu n'auras pas de problèmes pour comprendre ce qu'il y a de marqué ;)If you need any further help, just email me (you can send me a message from my profile).

Best Answer : by Life is a flower at 08 June 2011 01:06:10See the 2 Answers more for this question Canadian traveling to Turkey for a vacation from Morocco and back to Morocco?Morocco at 20 December 2009 05:12:54 QI am traveling to Morocco for 2 weeks and then taking a 2 week vacation to Turkey and then returning to Morocco for another 2 weeks. Does anyone know if I require any special visa or re entry paperwork to leave Morocco and go to another country and then return to Morocco? I am a bit worried that Morocco immigration may not let me re enter Morocco as it isn't my country of origin? Thanks for your help. AThis is information regarding each country from the Canadian Foreign Affairs Ministry's website:About Morocco:-----------------------A valid Canadian passport is required for Canadians intending to visit Morocco. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your expected departure from the country.Tourist Visa: Not required (for stays of less than 90 days)Business Visa: Not required (for stays of less than 90 days)Student Visa: Not required (for stays of less than 90 days)If you plan to extend your stay in Morocco beyond 90 days, contact the local police station, Service to Foreigners Section, at least 15 days prior to the expiry of the three-month limit, in order to secure proper authorization.About Turkey:--------------------A valid Canadian passport is required for Canadians intending to visit Turkey. The passport must be valid for at least six months following the issuance of the visa. Whatever the purpose of their stay (work, tourism, business, studies), Canadians should be in possession of a visa obtained at the nearest Turkish embassy or consulate or upon arrival at any Turkish point of entry. Those overstaying the duration of their visa should expect to pay substantial fines.See link below for more info:http://www.voyage.gc.ca/preparation_information/tourist-visas-tourisme-eng.aspIt looks like morocco is not an issue, however you need to check with the nearest Turkish Consulate in Canada prior to your departure or the Turkish Consulate once you are in Morocco regarding how you can apply for a visa or whether you will be automatically issued a visa stamp at the Turkish port of entry. As far as re-entering Morocco is concerned, you shouldn't have an issue. It would be considered just like your initial entry.
Best Answer : by Username at 20 December 2009 03:12:44See the 2 Answers more for this question How can Morocco manage to survive all the floods?Weather at 02 June 2009 02:06:11 QMorocco has lots of floods, but how can they survive and do they do something to prevent it? AMorocco borders the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, on two sides, and the Saharian desert on the two others. The country is divided in three regions; the fertile shore on the Mediterranean, north of the Rif mountains, the semi-fertile region south of it and north of the Altas mountains, and the arid region of the Saharian south of the Atlas.Apart from the green slopes of the Mediterranean coast the the pine forests of the Rif mountains, rainfalls occur often as sporadic subtropical showers, soon drained in otherwise dry river beds. When it happens, water comes fast and may, at some occasion, flood some of the river banks. But that is not unusual for any place in the world where rain comes often in short seasons. It is nothing particular to Morocco. Are you sure you got the country right? Floods are a much greater problem in places like Bangladesh, for example.

We want to take a trip to Morocco later this month. We don't want to fly into Morocco, we would rather fly somewhere in the South of Spain and take a ferry over. Where should we fly, and what city in Morocco should we go to?Thanks! AObviously, the most Northern city in Morocco is Tangiers. It has both an airport (Ibn Batouta Int'l airport / TNG) and two ferry ports (the old Tangiers port, and the new TangerMed "Passagers" port). You can take a ferry from Algeciras or Tarifa to Tangiers (since 2010, the ferries from Algeciras go to TangerMed, which is outside the city). So you would go to Algeciras or Tarifa. I don't know if you'll find cheap flights, but try flying to Malaga as well, it's not far from Algeciras by train.(You may just as well fly directly in to Tangiers from Barcelona using Jet4You, or from Madrid using EasyJet or Ryanair. Technically you fly only some kms into Morocco :-))Anyway, you should land in whatever is the cheapest and/or most convenient city, or ferry to Tangiers. Keep in mind it's easy and convenient to travel between cities (trains, buses…) so you can adapt you trip, for instance, pending prices and availability:1. Go to Algeciras (train from Barcelona e.g.) or Tarifa2. Ferry to Tangier, visit the city (remember that of you ship to TangerMed, you have to take a free bus shuttle to the old Tanger Ville port, or a bus to Ksar Sghir train station)3. Travel by train to Rabat (~5hr), visit the city4. Travel by train or bus to Fes (~2 hr), visit, come back to Rabat5. Travel by train to Casablanca (~1hr), visit the city (old downtown…),6. Travel by train or bus to Marrakech (~3hr), visit, go to Essaouira, to the Eastern desert, etc.7. and on your way back why not fly directly from Marrakech to Barcelona…
