20 Where should I continue my college education?Higher Education (University +) at 20 January 2009 06:01:53 QI am a Northern Virginia Community College student and I was accepted to Old Dominion University for the Spring 2009 semester. However I was forced to stay at NOVA to get my associates degree strictly because of financial issues. After I get my Associates should I go to George Mason University or any other well known University like UVA in Virginia? I plan on majoring in Business Administration. GMU is like right down the street from NOVA and I would not get to know anyone new for the college experience if I went there and commuted back and forth to my house which is off of Interstate 495. In addition, I would feel like I would be still STUCK in High School for the next four years because I would have been in the SAME area for my entire life! UGH PLEASE I NEED ADVICE FAST!!!!! AI would say open your horizon. Go to the school that is further away from home so you can get new experiences and meet new people. But also go the school that is cheaper. Paying back students loans is not a joke. Also remember once you graduate when it comes time to getting a job you can also look for jobs out town.
Best Answer : by Valentina at 20 January 2009 11:01:21 What is a good college for Music Education around northern NJ?Performing Arts at 16 November 2008 05:11:59 QI'm currently a freshman in college majoring in music education. I'm having doubts about my current school, so I want to start looking into other colleges in case I decide that transferring is the right option for me.What are some schools that meet as many of these as possible?:-Must be no more than 3 hours from northern NJ (pretty much limits that to NJ, eastern PA, and southeastern NY)-Must have a good music program, music ed specifically (Although I've improved quiet a bit in the last year since I auditioned, the schools I was accepted to last time were: The College of NJ, Lebanon Valley, Gettysburg College. I feel the last two were a little below my ability level)-I would prefer a school that placed more focus on arts than liberal arts-I originally didn't want anything in a big city, but I'm opening up to the idea a little...I do live an hour from NYCThanks! AThere are a couple of very good schools in your search area which I can recommend. Rowan University, in Glassboro, New Jersey, has excellent performing ensembles available. Many members from the Philadelphia Orchestra are on staff at Rowan, as well as some very well-known commercial musicians. http://www.rowan.edu/colleges/fpa/music/assets/faculty.cfmSUNY Purchase College, in Purchase, New York, is another very good choice. The Conservatory of Music has a very fine staff, with great performance opportunities. They offer a Bachelor of Music degree, which is more performance oriented. http://www.purchase.edu/Departments/AcademicPrograms/Arts/Music/ Best of luck to you!

What city should I look for jobs in?Other - Canada at 01 April 2011 06:04:58 Q* I am 27 years old and currently live in northern Ontario with college education* I have been without a job for a year and a half* I have looked in many cities in Ontario, and sent out over 500 applications and resumes* I have hooked up with job finding agencies - the ones where I live are useless, and out-of-town agencies cannot help me from where I am* I am willing to look anywhere in Canada now except for Quebec* I do not speak FrenchAny thoughts on what cities I should target? I have been incredibly frustrated and want some help here.* I am looking into a general office business field. AYou haven't shared the most necessary piece of information - what field is your training in? What kind of job are you looking for? The recommendation we give you will vary on whether you are a teacher, pilot, fishing guide or astronomer. I also find it difficult to believe you have been out of work for 18 months without finding a single job even if it's waiting tables or working at a convenience store.

I've seen his show "Breaking the News with DL Hughley" 3 or 4 times now and I can't help noticing his lack of insight. Honestly I think he's a clever guy and a decent entertainer. That said he seems ill fit to host a NEWS Show.. he clearly lacks intellectual depth. In a recent show, DL cracked a joke about Joe Biden's wife Jill teaching at a junior college... It's true..Jill Biden is an English professor at Northern Virginia Community College. Frankly though, I don't see how this is that funny, let alone worthy of mentioning on his show... Anyhow, I'de be interested to know what kind of formal education DL Hughely has.. Please leave sources AIt would appear not:http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0401018/bio
Best Answer : by Pat at 02 February 2009 08:02:58 In Northern Europe, where medical care and all education is through the government, how...?Government at 05 June 2010 09:06:33 Q...much income tax is paid?I'm thinking particularly of Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Holland. It sounds great not to have to worry about medical expenses taking everything and free education all the way through college! But, how much does it cost, and if possible, how happy are the people with it, particularly with the health care? AWhen you compare the final tax rates of European Union tax rates which are about 40% in nations like Germany or approximately 50% in France and the UK, it may seem ridiculous but Americans pay about the same rates when you factor our State and Local City taxes. In addition, US Citizens are charged personal property taxes for vehicles and property while many EU nations charge a one time initial tax and many of them will let the owner bestow the property without a tax liablity for the recipient. Many US tax regulations will attempt to capture a tax on the transfer of personal property such as real estate unless it is below a certain value (the number varies from state and state and applies differently based on property type or intended use of the property). Many EU nations will also provide a "basic" college education for a four year degree and basic by their standards are better than average when you compare the quality of EU education systems compared to the overall decline of the educational system in the United States.Gasoline is overly taxed in the UK and Western Europe, most often 60% of the price of a gallon of petrol is because of gasoline taxes while diesel fuel is treated better and explains why Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, BMW and Volvo sell the greatest majority of their diesel cars in the EU. Consider also the reason turbocharging was invented was originally to boost diesel engines from stops and slower speeds so diesel would be an acceptable solution for consumer cars. When you take into account the tally of American Federal, State and some cities charge their own earnings tax as long as you work there but may not even live there !!!Then take into consideration sales tax, personal property tax, capital gains on most investments except municipal and federal bonds and those gains are only exempt when filing inside the tax jurisdiction(example, someone who lives in Wyoming and buys a New York City and New York State bond has to pay capital gains taxes but if they purchased a Wyoming State bond, they'd be exempt from Wyoming State Taxes, but if they bought a municipal bond from a city in Wyoming they'd be subject to Wyoming State and US Federal Capital Gains taxes.)and it becomes apparent our final tax bill is the same as the EU but without all of the advtangeous subsidized programs or even state sponsored health care.
Best Answer : by Debi at 06 June 2010 02:06:34See the 3 Answers more for this question Which College is better? Temple University or Rosemont college?Higher Education (University +) at 08 June 2011 04:06:45 QI read on a ranking website that temple was voted #132 out of nationally ranked universities and rosemont was ranked #77 out of northern colleges. i dont know what this means because i cant really compare these rankings. (b/c one is a college and one is a university)can someone please tell me which school is better ranked and or which school is better for undergraduate education. if you go to one of these schools, please try to be unbiased. WHERE WOULD I RECIEVE A BETTER QUALITY EDUCATION? AI am biased, but I really think that you need to consider each school by the program of study in which you are interested. Talk to the admissions people at both places and ask if you can talk to the discipline chairs, faculty, and/or students in the major you want to pursue. I think you also need to consider the size of the school you are in which you are most comfortable. Are you a name or just a number? How much access do you have to faculty? Lastly, the location is important. It's city vs. suburbs (Main Line). The only way to see the difference is to visit both locations.Don't count Rosemont out based on someone else's opinion. Rosemont has high academic standards and a faculty that is best in class. But this is a decision, a very personal one at that, that shouldn't be made lightly. I'm happy to talk to you more if you are interested. My email is rperry@rosemont.edu. I work in the College Relations department.Roberta
