18 What kind of degree do you need to be a Sports Information Director?Higher Education (University +) at 25 September 2008 06:09:17 QI'm in college now and I'm trying to figure out what I want to major in, I know what I want to do (Be a sports agent or a sports information director) But I don't know what to major in. My counselors are no help, they just stare at me like "You want to be a coach?" they are old. So if you could help me out, that'd be great. Thanks in advance! AI know that my college they offer a program called "Sports Management" It might be tricky to find a school with that degree, depending on your area.

The director told me to set my price and I've looked around. The other girls doing it are charging $20-45 per hour session, and most of the kids we'd be coaching would spending 7-13 hour sessions in the gym per week at this point. I know my parents paid much more than that and I would like some money too, but I also know people shouldn't have to spend that much, and some don't have that kind of money. I'm only 16, but I have gymnastics experience and certifications that the other coaches don't have. I'm pretty torn. If you had a child that was serious in the sport, how much would you be willing to spend per session? AI would be willing to spend about $150 per month on the gym and the extra sessions altogether. But there are a lot of parents who get suckered into believing that if they just spend enough money, their child can get a college scholarship or be on the olympics or something. I'd start at $25 and see what happens.
Best Answer : by Carrie at 24 December 2010 12:12:07See the 1 Answers more for this question Girl's Basketball... Should I quit?Basketball at 05 January 2011 06:01:00 QI am a Senior in high school, and I've been playing basketball since the second grade. This year out team got a new coach, and everything has changed. I know that nothing should be the same, because we used to have a female coach and now we have a male... Whom has never coached girls in his life. Anyway, the past years i was on jv and varsity i mostly sat varsity but started jv. I thought that this year was going to be my year. I was finally going to get my time on the court, The time that ive yearned these past years. I worked out every morning over the summer with the football players. along with going to open gyms and being on 2 different basketball leauges. Some things that none other player on my team did. I was trying to get better and I though that, that was the way to do it. When try outs ended our new coach cut one of the seniors and then told me and two other players that we made the team he just wasnt sure what our role would be. He also said that when it got close to the end of the season one of the three of us wouldnt be getting that much playing time. I thought that i was in the clear and he was just telling me this to get under my skin and make me work even harder than i already do. The next day he had me play with the lettermen (we consider them the starters) and it was like that for a few days, then something happened. I didnt miss a practice, or a game, I didnt have a bad grade, or a bad attitude I didnt get in to trouble, I didnt make a huge mistake in practice that I can recall. All i know is that something changed. I wasnt playing with the starters anymore. much less playing at all in practice. The first game came and i didnt even step on the floor. We've had 6 games and I played in three of them. 2 of which were for less than a minute. However, the game that we just had I knew i wasnt going to play, because he told me so, two days before... The reason... My grandfather was diagnosed with very agressive liver cancer a week school got out for winter break, my mother thought that this could have been his last christmas, so right when school got out, she drove me and my brother to visit him. While we were out of town I missed two practices. However, I told my head coach, asst coach and the athletic director that I would be gone and I told them the reason a week in advance. Still he made me run after practice 4 days in a row. and I didnt get to play in the game that we just had. I would think this was fair, however, 3 other players missed practices through out the break for reasons less serious than mine and they didnt even bother to tell the coach. They all got to play in either the j.v. or varsity game that we just had, 2 of which played over me. Which want hard because I sat on the bench for the whole 32 minutes. I just am not sure what to do anymore. I work the hardest it seems like I got to the gym after practice sometimes to lift, swim and run. I am a post and I am the second fastest on the whole entire team. Some of my team mates and friends think I should quit. they say that if they were a senior who worked as hard as I did who was being treated the way I was, they wouldn't let that happen, they would quit and end the pain. Im just not so sure that I could do that to myself or my fellow teammates. Any advice will totally help... thanks ! :) AThat really sucks. :(You could try to stick it out for a little while longer, and then if the situation doesn't improve, either confront the coach, or talk to a school councilor about it. I think you've definitely worked far too hard just to give up now. Good luck! I hope this situation turns around for you.
Best Answer : by KayBee at 05 January 2011 06:01:34 Im mad at my coach and Im sad at the same time?Horses at 20 July 2010 11:07:29 QI have to let it out............Ok so I have been riding for over 5 years (with the SAME coach) and then I go to a riding camp in which my coach is the director and then the next thing you know she puts me in a beginner ring! So my mom called her and asked her why and she just said that she is not ready yet. I was just like are you KIDDING ME! YOU F****ING LADY! So I wait for another two weeks for this session to be over and I started a new session and I thought everything was gonna be ok and I was gonna be moved to a new ring and the next thing you know I'm repeating the beginner (walk trot tiny canters, Im a cross country jumper and have jumped a solid before) ring AGAIN! So I don't even want to go to camp tomorrow.. why waste my time there. I have no friends in my ring and all the rings sit together so now Im just pissed. Just pissed. What should I do? So he moves this girl who has been riding for about a month to the most advanced ring and sticks me in a beginner ring! I hate her! No mean answers please. So he moves this girl who has been riding for about a month to the most advanced ring and sticks me in a beginner ring! I hate her! No mean answers please.I mean the riding camp is at the place I take lessons at AI would talk it out with your coach. Not yell and get mad just go up to her when she isn't busy and really talk to her about why she doesn't feel you should be in a more advanced lesson. There might be some basic things that you need to master before she has you move on. I mean this is a nice way, I am not trying to be rude, but just because you have done cross country doesn't mean that you don't need to review more basic things. Your coach could really be trying to help you out with something. But I would sit her down and see what she says then go from there. Good luck.

My track coach put me in for an invitational where i'd be running in a varsity relay. I really really want to run this event because it might be my only chance to run varsity as a freshman but I already agreed to go on an orchestra trip on the same day as the meet where we play in a competition and then spend the rest of the day in an amusement park...i don't know what to do! should i cancel on my orchestra director and run in the meet or should i let down my coach and relay members and go to the orchestra competition?*pleeeaaaase answer soon!! AI'd say go to the orchestra. I run track. Varsity meets are just like JV meets, really...JV meets are actually more fun because the coaches don't care what you run. I do distance varsity for boys my freshman and sophomore year. The advanced orchestra trip seems worthwhile and fun. Trust me, there are A LOT more attempts to get into varsity this season. If not, there is always next year, cross country, or winter.

AYou should have a corporate job, something executive level (for the higher pay) at PETA or the Humane Society.Work in Boston, MA but live on Cape Cod.Good luck! Let us all know how it works out! :-)
